Minutes of the Corporate and Regulatory Services Committee

16th March 2010

Minutes of the Corporate and Regulatory Services Committee held on Tuesday 16 March 2010 at 7.30pm in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, 47 Derry Road, Strabane.

Present: In the Chair: Councillor J McNulty

Other Members: Councillors M Boyle, A Bresland, J Donnell, J Emery, G Foley, T Kerrigan, E McMenamin, J O’Kane

Total: 9

In Attendance: Clerk & Chief Executive (CE)
Chief Building Control Officer (CBCO)
Chief Environmental Health Officer (CEHO)
Committee Clerk

Apologies: Councillors K McGuire, R McHugh, B McMahon.

Chief Environmental Health Officer’s Report

The CE, in the absence of the CEHO at this point of the meeting, proceeded to present his report, a copy of which had been previously circulated for Members’ attention. The following issues were discussed:

Pollution Control & Local Government (NI) Order 1978 – Ruinous Structure

AGREED
It was agreed that the Environmental Health Department initiated legal proceedings in respect of a ruinous structure within the District (Ref PC/8/2010).

The report of the CEHO was adopted on the proposal of Councillor McMenamin, seconded by Councillor Foley.

The CEHO joined the meeting at this juncture.

Chief Building Control Officer’s Report

The CBCO presented his report, a copy of which had been previously circulated for Members’ attention.

On the proposal of Councillor McMenamin, seconded by Councillor Kerrigan the report was adopted.

It was agreed on the proposal of Councillor McMenamin, seconded by Councillor Boyle that the meeting go ‘In Committee’.

The meeting ended at 7.50pm.
