RECYCLING CENTRES – OPENING HOURS

SUMMER SEASON:  - 1 APRIL – 30 SEPTEMBER

* Carricklee Recycling Centre, Donemana Recycling Centre, Plumbridge Recycling Centre and Newtownstewart Recycling Centre are open:

(Mon – Fri) - 10.00am to 6.45pm; (Sat.) - 10.00am to 4.45pm

* Killen Recycling Centre is open:

(Mon – Fri) - 10.00am to 5.45pm; (Sat.) - 10.00am to 4.45pm

 

WINTER SEASON: - 1 OCTOBER – 31 MARCH

* Carricklee Recycling Centre, Killen Recycling Centre, Donemana Recycling Centre, Plumbridge Recycling Centre and Newtownstewart Recycling Centre are open:

(Mon – Sat) - 10.00am to 4.45pm

All sites closed on Sundays and Christmas Day.

Please do not visit the sites when they are closed.  People caught tipping waste when the sites are closed are liable to prosecution.

Recycling Centres do not accept;

·       Waste from the activities of a trader or business

·       Hazardous waste such as:-

Construction and demolition waste, even if it is from your own home.  This includes soil, bricks, rubble, concrete and fitted items of furniture such as kitchen units, bathroom suites, etc.

·       Also doors, windows, coal bunkers, wheels or tyres.

Access to the Recycling Centres

All Strabane District Council residents are welcome to use the recycling centres during opening hours for the recycling and disposal of their own household waste.  Residents from outside Strabane District Council area cannot avail of this service.  Users must follow all rules that apply to the site, including:

All waste must be pre-sorted to enable it to be recycled, and placed in the appropriate containers.

For safety, please keep children in cars, and be aware of other vehicles and users on the site.

Vans, commercial type vehicles and trailers are restricted on the sites.  Drivers of these vehicles require a Permit before visiting the site.
